#ThinkThursday - Let them Lead

This past week I spent some time chatting with youth at the Christian Methodist Episcopal (C.M.E.) leadership training school (LTS). During our "Real Talk" chat, one of the youth  requested that the services and activities be more relatable. The school was created for the youth and young adults and yet they felt the services weren't structured for them. These are our future leaders but yet they are often disregarded as juvenile and their opinions aren't valuable. I remember being their age. I felt like I was always screaming all the while everyone around me heard silence.

Today's #ThinkThursday (and first #ThinkThursday) is dedicated to the future leaders... our youth...
You're great. You should be heard. Your voice matters.

"Let them lead"

The youth aren't tainted by time.
They are magnificent sponges ready to absorb ever crumb of knowledge.
They think outside the box because no one has told them not to.
They leap into technology like their eating a box of Lucky Charms.
One word spoken negatively against them can prevent their lights from ever shining.
We must embrace their quick wit and quirkiness.
We must allow them the opportunity to be giants before the world tells them that they are small or insignificant
Let the youth lead while they are youth.
This will truly make America great again...
